Thirty-six companies from the French FinTech industry are banding together to establish an association aiming at federating and representing them: France FinTech.

This new association welcomes all businesses using innovative and disruptive technological or business models and aiming at addressing current or emerging issues in the financial services industry. The French FinTech sector is particularly active, already encompassing several young companies across the whole spectrum of financial services: banking, insurance, investment, asset management, payments, consulting, etc.

FinTech companies from the US and Great Britain, among others, have brought together their ecosystem to give them a global exposure. France, as a historical land of innovation in the financial industry, had to promote its assets: its most innovating startups. Such is the ambition of France FinTech.

According to Axelle Lemaire, Minister of State for Digital Affairs, « the challenges facing the financial industry are those of our whole economy. To turn that industry into a key player in the digital revolution, it requires simplicity, trust and a strong support to startups and French innovation. The government also wishes to ensure that the sector is structured. That is the entire purpose of the creation of the France FinTech association, which I applaud. »

Michel Sapin, Minister of Finance and the Public Accounts, equally welcomes the creation of this association: « FinTech is a major issue for the development of innovative financial services for all; it is in the best interest of consumers that new players shake up established companies of the financial sector ».

“France has an abundance of renowned specialists in finance and mathematical engineering. It comes as no surprise that from this combination of know-how, the FinTech became one of its areas of excellence. The French FinTech are increasingly making their mark on the national and international landscape. Their new significance, their successes, the emergence of specific subjects made the creation of this association necessary. This has now been accomplished.”clarified Alain Clot, Chairman of the France FinTech Association.

The main tasks assigned to France FinTech will therefore be the following:

– Promotion of French FinTech in France and abroad

– Representation of the sector before public authorities, media, investors, financial sector, research centres, etc.

– Sharing experiences, knowledges and information within the community

– Relationships with the other associations of the digital industry in France and abroad
