Highlights of 2015 and a look to the future!

Now that 2015 has drawn to a close, we have the opportunity not only to review the past year, but also to look to the future and everything we aim to achieve in 2016.

2015 represents a real milestone in SlimPay’s journey. Not only did we receive €15 million in fund raising from Prime Ventures, but we were honoured to be named France’s fastest growing technology company at the annual Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards ceremony.

New features for frictionless payments

It has also been a great year for our solution, which has been further enhanced with advanced features such as document signing, mandate import and recurrent card transactions via the restful API. SlimPay now serves over 2000 merchants in over 32 countries and has now processed more than 5 billion Euros since its launch. The continued success of our product further confirms the change in consummation habits, which we identified when developing our product. Consumers now prefer to rent rather than buy and so it is essential for merchants to propose new payment means adapted to recurring purchases and the rental of products/ services. 2016 will of course see further solution developments, as we continue to make payment as seamless and simple as possible in the customer journey – watch this space!

International expansion and promising partnerships

The past year saw us open new offices in London, Amsterdam, and Berlin and our team grow to 56 employees. Our recruitment drive continues in 2016 and we will continue to expand internationally thanks to our culturally rich team.

Proving that banks and FinTechs can collaborate to optimise the payment experience, in September 2015, SlimPay created a partnership with the French bank, Credit Du Nord. Thanks to this union Credit du Nord can offer its clients an integrated and secure way of processing SEPA direct debits.

A look to the future

Now that the market acknowledges us as a local leader in France, we need to take our vision global. The advent of subscription economy has revolutionised the way we consume, and our solution will continue to support this change on an international level. Payment is a vital step of the customer journey and key to online conversion. In 2016 we will continue to improve our solution to make it even easier to integrate, more secure, and more transparent in the customer journey.
